By train and bus Fast & affordable travel to Viehhofen in the Salzburg region

There are three railway stations in the vicinity of Viehhofen:
- Maishofen - Saalbach
- Zell am See
- Saalfelden
You can then travel to the Glemmtal valley on bus route 680.

By car to Viehhofen

Vienna–Salzburg Motorway (A1), Wals-Lofer exit, border crossing into Germany, continue via Bad Reichenhall to the Steinpass border crossing, Lofer, towards Zell am See, Maishofen, Viehhofen.

Vienna–Salzburg West Motorway (A1) to the Salzburg junction, onto the Tauern Motorway (A10) towards Villach, Bischofshofen junction, onto the Pinzgau B311 towards Zell am See, Maishofen, Viehhofen.
From the north
(Germany):
Take the Munich–Salzburg motorway (A8) to the Siegsdorf exit. From there, continue towards Inzell until you reach the turn-off for Lofer. You will cross the border into Austria at the Stein Pass. From Lofer, drive via Saalfelden towards Zell am See. In Maishofen, you’ll reach the turn-off into the Glemmtal valley. From there, it’s just 5 km to Viehhofen. (No vignette required!)
From the south via Villach

Tauern Motorway Villach–Salzburg (A10), Bischofshofen junction, take the Pinzgau B 311 towards Zell am See, Maishofen, Viehhofen.

Tauern Motorway Villach – Salzburg (A10), after Spittal take the next exit for the Mallnitz – Böckstein car ferry, continue on the Pinzgau B 311 towards Zell am See, Maishofen, Viehhofen.
From the south via the Brenner Pass
(Italy)
Brenner Motorway (A13) towards Innsbruck, take the Innsbruck Ost exit, continue on the Inntal Motorway (A12) towards Wörgl, take the Wörgl West exit, then continue on the B178, B164 and B311 to Saalfelden, Maishofen and Viehhofen.

Vignette:
A vignette is compulsory on Austrian motorways and expressways. Vignettes with different validity periods (10 days, 2 months or 1 year) can be purchased from the motoring clubs ÖAMTC and ARBÖ, at petrol stations and newsagents (and also abroad near the border).
Digital vignette:
The vignette can also be conveniently purchased online as a digital vignette. When buying a 1-day or 10-day vignette online, immediate validity is possible. Please note the information provided.
Regardless of the vignette, an additional toll must be paid for certain tunnel crossings or mountain passes, e.g. for the Tauern and Katschberg tunnels (Tauern Motorway) or the Felbertauern Road.
By plane
For guests travelling from further afield, Viehhofen is also easily accessible by plane. The nearest airport is in Salzburg. From there, you can easily arrange onward travel – whichever option best suits your holiday plans.
